An Honor to meet you birdie.

Dear Reader,

Today I actually got to witness something super cool. Well to me it is cool.

If you have seen my previous posts you will see that I posted a video titled “1 minute with a hummingbird.” Well that little hummingbird featured in it, is my buddy who visits me everyday. I call it Sweetie.

Today in my kitchen I seen some movement by the feeder, as I went to check what was going on, I seen Sweetie was having a standoff with another hummer. I caught it on Film. Not the greatest Steven Spielberg film, but an Ecclesiasticus Production.

Not my best work, But That’s what I saw.

Now, back to the story. Okay so I am like oh my goodness, I saw that, let me go outside and sit on the chair under the feeder. So I sat there near the feeder and watched these two Hummingbirds chase each other. Back and forth, side to side. It sounded like little jets flying around my yard.

“Purp”, the new guy, is a Lucifer Hummingbird. It actually introduced it self to me as I was sitting near the feeder. It just hovered right up to me in front of my face for a few seconds. We locked eyes. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I got to see the bird up close. The colors are so vividly beautiful. Full of purple, with a white and grey chest. the back where its wings are is green. It has a white stripe where its eyes are. A beautiful bird indeed.

But Sweetie is still my favorite. No doubt. Sweetie is the whole reason why I got into birding.

Once the two birds were done chasing each other they flew into the tree, chose a branch and they both just sat there together on that branch. Like old friends sharing conversation. I wish I could have taken a picture, but my phone camera is not great quality. I plan on purchasing a camera soon. Pray for me.

Anyways, I just thought I would share my experience with my readers. And I leave you all in prayer.

My Father in Heaven, I want to thank you for your wonderful creations and your beautiful works. I am blessed and honored to experience the birds who have a need for nothing. For your love feeds them and takes good care of them and they have no need for anything. Thank You Lord. I love you and I thank you. May you continue to bless me with your works so that I may share with my fellow brethren. In Jesus Name We Pray. Amen.
